Biomedical images. The Image Archive is a hierarchically-structured repository of anatomical and surgical illustrations, photographs, and radiological images. Its purpose is to give physicians a free and readily-available source of images that can be used for surgical education.

160 000 Clinical and scientific images are held mainly in 35mm format, these can be viewed form the Wellcome library, with photographs covering healthcare and medical imaging techniques in medium format. Electronic output is also available for a selection of the scientific images. The Wellcome Trust Medical Photographic Library (WTMPL) offers a from the earliest periods of civilization to state-of-the-art imaging techniques, covering the history of medicine and the history of human culture from ancient times to the present day.

This has a browse facility to search the images which are contained within reports. A lot of the images are computer generated and come in 2D and 3D graphics.
